Same Sea, Different Boat

Updated: Apr 19, 2020

I’m pretty sure I have rewritten this 1,000 times over in my head, with several iterations on paper! But I’m not here to be perfect, I just wanted to touch base and let you know that we care!

My life coping mechanisms are maybe different or spot on with yours. I try to be the light, the reminder of sun, and the remainder of worth and love, I try to make jokes and usually show up happy, or don’t come out at all. But I know that this quarantine situation is different for each and every one of us. I know some are doing good, okay and maybe even some living their best quarantine life ever! But on the flip side, I know some are hurting beyond the imaginable, with loss of loved ones, the fear for themselves and the ones we live this life for, the ones on the front line that are doing their best, (and a huge thank you for being the glue that is holding everyone’s hearts together right now), the ones that are holding it together for their children but crying behind closed doors (my hubby jokes that we have a baby that is part of bamat (babies against mama’s alone time) so those closed doors are tricky at times. The ones that have lost their job, income or even motivation, not knowing what the next step will be. The ones that are in a difficult living situation, feeling stuck with nowhere to go during this time. The ones going through a divorce, but living with there soon to be x. The ones that were already in a state of loneliness, and now this situation makes them feel even more alone than ever. So, for the ones that are hurting, my heart goes out to you. And I hope with my deepest intention that when we reach out to the ones we love or come in contact with a stranger, we remember that we were all in this sea of survival together just different boats. So, from one captain to another, may your journey of rough waters be smooth again, may you wake up to another day of sun, may you let the stars guide you and your heart heal, may you grow a bit more compassion to the way others feel. May you look out over the water ahead and know that there will be safe land again. May we all be humbled and changed as we navigate these waves of disaster together.

Hugs and love to you and yours.
